On Wished's dedication page, I quoted my Little Momma, "You never know until you try." This one tiny sentence packs a lot of power!
The school is holding cheerleader tryouts.
I want to play the guitar.
I wish that special boy was my boyfriend.
No matter what the situation, there was always Mom's wisdom -- though at the time, if I'm honest with you, it was really annoying.
What's the worst that can happen? They say no. But, they might say yes. You never know until you try.
:Sigh: She was right.
At some point in your life, you might realize that you've drawn an invisible line in the sand. A line that you decided you can't cross over. What did you separate from yourself with that tiny little line? Have you distanced yourself from people who aren't like you the way Honey did in Wished? Are you holding yourself back from letting others see the real you, the one God created because He wanted you to be exactly what you are? Does that line prevent you from reaching out to others who could help you when you need it or those whom you could help? Or is it keeping you from making your wildest dreams come true?
For me, that line kept my writing in file folders, scribbled notebooks, and in the hands of very close friends. That is, until the day came when I realized I'd never have what I wanted until I jumped over that line. With excitement, caution, and abject fear, I made Wished available to the world. Did I land on my feet when I jumped over that line? Time will tell. The victory for me, however, isn't in the number of copies sold; it's knowing I faced a fear to make my dream a reality.
So, I challenge you! Jump over that line you've drawn. Put yourself out there and take a chance. Will you land on your feet or fall on your face? Who knows. But, there is one thing for sure...
You never know until you try!
